What to Expect?

If you have eyelash extensions you are already pretty familiar with the overall process. If you have never received eyelash extensions before than here is what you should expect! 😉

The Process

Once you go into your lash appointment you will first have to wash your natural lashes so your lash tech can work on clean lashes. You do not want to wear a lot of makeup when going in to get a first full set because you will end up washing your eyelashes before the process starts. Your professional lash tech will then have you lie down to examine your lashes. Each person has a unique set of lashes and no persons lashes are the same. The shape of your eye is also a factor your lash tech is going to take into careful consideration.

You have the option of choosing a classic, hybrid, or volume set. Your lash tech will give her best opinion on what size and thickness of lashes to put on you. There will be a white pad placed underneath your eyes so each lash is clearly visible. A piece of tape will be placed on your upper lid extended to your eyebrow so your lash tech can get a more precise setting. Once this is done, your master lash artist will work their magic! 😉

If you are receiving a first set, expect the process to take around 2/2.5 hours depending on the style of lashes you want.  If you are just receiving a fill, this process is much shorter lasting around 1 hour.

After Care

Once your beautiful lash extensions are on, your lash tech will brush through them making sure there are no stickies. You will be advised to not run them through water for 48 hours and to stay away from steam. This is because the glue is so fresh we do not want them falling off. After the first 48 hours you should wash them everyday with a light foam cleanser. Make sure your cleanser is oil free as oil-based products will loosen the bond of the glue.

Taking care of you lashes is extremely important so you do not get any bacteria or makeup built up in them. You will be much more pleased with how long your extensions will last with the proper care.

The process is simple: wash your lashes and sit back and relax while your lash tech works her magic! 😉

When To Get a Fill?

Eyelash extensions are a quick and easy solution to having full, fluffy lashes. A question that is commonly asked is, when is the appropriate time to get an eyelash fill? Everyone is unique and different from one another, as this same rule applies to your eyelashes!

How to Know When

There are many determining factors that go into the solution of filling in your eyelashes. The most important factor to take into consideration is the overall look of the lashes. If you feel like there are a lot of gaps, or space, between your lashes you should go and get a fill. The usual time frame individuals receive lash fills are 2-3 weeks, but this differs from person to person. The timing all comes down to how well you maintain them.

Maintenance

Depending on the person, you will see various amounts of fall out. Your lashes will do what you do to them, so it is important to keep your daily activities in mind when having lash extensions. Take into consideration the way you wash your face and your eyelashes. You do not want to be too rough when cleaning them, or else you will need a fill sooner than expected.

Also, depending on how you sleep can be a determining factor. If you are a rough sleeper, your eyelashes will become looser and looser and naturally fall out at a quicker rate than others. When doing everyday activities always remember that you have extensions on!
