Biggest Myth about Eyelash Extensions

With eyelash extensions you get the luxury of having beautifully full lashes 24/7! There are many myths regarding eyelash extensions that you should be aware of. Lash extensions should be pain-free and hassle-fee. It is important to set the record straight on these false interpretations on extensions.

Biggest Myth

One myth that needs to be addressed before deciding to apply eyelash extensions is that they ruin your natural lashes. This is completely untrue. If your eyelash extensions are applied correctly and properly, they do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Your own natural lash thickness and length should be taken into consideration before choosing the proper styles and fibers specifically for you. In order for there to be no damage to your natural lashes, the fibers should be 3mm longer than your own lashes. If you choose to wear longer lashes for a long period of time, they might weigh down your lash roots.

Your lashes should not have too much glue on them or else they will become irritated. Make sure that your lash tech does your lashes by going through each individual lash. This allows for a more clear and clean set of extensions.  Your lashes are constantly growing even with your lash extensions. So it is important that you clean them and take proper care of your extensions.

Lash Care

Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on the extensions because this can cause lash loss and may actually damage your natural lashes. If you notice that your lashes are diminishing over time, there are lash serums to help with growth. With the proper technique you should have no worries about your natural lashes falling out. This is a myth that makes potential users hesitant. It is all about the proper lash care and the lash techs expertise.

Simpler Makeup Routine

The luxury of eyelash extensions is the simplicity that comes with it! You no longer have to spend hours and hours doing your makeup. With lash extensions there is no need for mascara, or eyelash curlers. Your makeup routine just got so much quicker!

Quick & Easy

When you wake up in the morning, the motivation to put a full face of makeup on can be hard to come by. With eyelash extensions, you have already saved yourself so much time and effort! If you still choose to wear makeup with your extensions, the only products you really need are your facial products. Everyone has their own personal preferences on the amount of makeup you put on.

If you want to wear eye-makeup, it is good idea to avoid mascara at all costs! You absolutely do not need to apply any mascara because your lashes will automatically look full and fluffy. If you prefer using mascara regardless, it is recommended to use non oil-based products. When it is time to do your eyes, the only products you should be putting on your eyelash extensions are your eyelash wand. After every appointment you will get an eyelash wand to comb out your lashes after a night of sleeping. Your lashes can get a little messy when you are sleeping, so combing them through when you wake up will put them all back into there proper place.

Benefits

Not putting on any mascara, or even eye makeup in general, allows you to have more free time in the mornings. Like most of us, our morning are stressful and hectic. Lash extensions are great to have to help save us some valuable time before we head off to start the day. You do not have to worry about the struggle of removing your eye-makeup at the end of the night either! Although if you are wearing eye-makeup it is recommended to use a cotton swab to remove top eyeliner or eyeshadow.

Always remember that the products you put on your face should be all oil-free! Oil-based products loosen the bond of the eyelash glue and will cause fallout earlier than expected.

Products to Use with Lash Extensions

When you get beautiful lash extensions from Eyelash Club, there are some things you should be aware of so they stay full and fluffy for a longer period of time. There are certain products that you can and can’t use with lash extensions. All lash wearers should understand what certain products can do to your lashes!

To Clean

A product that we recommend our client to use to clean their lash extensions is LashPure Eyelash and Eyelid Cleanser. This is a soft, foamy cleanser that is not too harsh on your extensions. You want to remove all of your makeup first. Then, you want to wash your eyelashes. Do so by mixing the cleanser with some water in your hands and gently brushing them down through your lash extensions. You want to make sure you do not rub left and right on your lashes, as this will loosen the bond of the glue. Gently run your fingers down your lashes to remove any excess bacteria or dandruff that may be built up in your extensions.

To Use

Products to use with eyelash extensions are your normal everyday products. Make sure that the products you put on your face are oil-free. If your makeup has oils in it, the chances of you loosing lashes increases. When removing makeup, an excellent product to use is Garnier’s Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Water. The main aspect you need to focus on is choosing oil-free products. You can wear oil-free mascara, although it is not necessary with extensions. When you apply mascara to your lashes only apply it to the tips of the lashes. Avoid running the product all the way from the root of the eyelash to the tip as this will affect the bondage of the glue on your lashes.

To Avoid

You want to make sure you stay away from oil-based products as these will loosen the glue and you will see more fallout than normal. Be sure to check the labels on your makeup products to see if they are oil-free before purchasing. You do not need to wear mascara with lash extensions as you will automatically have full lashes everyday you wake up. If you choose to wear mascara, a highly recommended one for lash extensions is Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara. This is oil-free, and not water proof.
